Clovis began as a railroad freight stop moving Fresno County's farm and timber output, and that same San Joaquin Valley farm belt still needs packaging automation today. We supply VFFS machines and case packers across California.
Clovis got its start in 1890 as a freight stop on a regional freight railroad, built specifically to move farmland produce and Sierra Nevada timber to market. The valley still needs to move it. A 42-mile lumber flume fed a mill and lumberyard next to the original station starting in 1894, and a historic winery once stood near that same depot, evidence of the area's early wine-grape production alongside the lumber trade. That founding logic, moving what Fresno County's farmland grew, still shapes packaging equipment demand in the region today. Clovis sits inside the San Joaquin Valley, one of the most productive agricultural regions in the United States, known for tree fruit, grapes and nuts, and while the city itself has grown into a Fresno-area residential and retail suburb, the surrounding farm belt keeps producing at scale.
Tree-fruit, grape and nut harvests in this valley move on a tight seasonal calendar, and the bagging and case-packing equipment behind them has to keep pace with it. Our Mars Series VFFS machines handle vertical form fill seal packaging for the tree fruit, nut and grape products moving out of valley operations, and our automatic case packers keep pace once that product is bagged or boxed for shipment. Processors handling fruit, nuts or grapes anywhere in this valley can find the equipment specifics on our food and beverage industry page and our California locations page. Clovis itself has no PLAN IT plant, since the packaging demand here lives in the farm belt around it, not the suburb. Our equipment and support reach growers and processors across that valley and the rest of the state, covered on our solutions page.
