Irvine's packaging equipment needs would have puzzled the ranchers who built the place. Between 1864 and 1878, James Irvine and his partners assembled roughly 110,000 acres running from the Pacific Ocean to the Santa Ana River, and by 1918 the Irvine Ranch carried 60,000 acres of lima beans, one of the largest farming operations in Southern California at the time. That ranch was converted into a planned city through the 1960s, and Irvine incorporated in 1971. The bean fields are gone, but the demand for precision and volume that they represented did not disappear. It moved indoors, into a metro now anchored by medical-device manufacturing, home-appliance and electronics production, and automotive operations, several of which run their North American headquarters out of Irvine.
That shift is PLAN IT's opening in Irvine. Medical-device and health manufacturers packaging diagnostic components, single-use kits, or measured-dose consumables need stick pack and sachet machines that hold tight tolerances run after run, plus EliteWeigh checkweighers that catch underfills before a shipment leaves the dock, a requirement regulated producers can't skip. You know your diagnostic components and dose tolerances. We know stick-pack lines. We build them to hold those tolerances run after run. PLAN IT has no branch office in Irvine, but we supply and integrate this equipment for medical-device and health manufacturers across California, and we keep units in stock so a regulated production line doesn't stall waiting on a validation-friendly machine swap. For a health or medical manufacturer scaling out of Irvine, the packaging line is often the bottleneck long before the production floor is.
