Brantford went from a top Canadian manufacturing-export city built on farm equipment to a modern base for household-goods and confectionery plants. PLAN IT supplies flow wrappers and VFFS baggers for producers running those lines today.

Brantford was once ranked third among Canadian cities for the value of manufactured goods it exported, an era built on farm-implement makers turning out plows and threshers for prairie agriculture, well before packaging automation was part of any factory floor. That industrial identity cracked in the 1980s and '90s when a wave of bankruptcies hit the sector, but the city rebuilt its manufacturing base around new industries rather than losing it. The rebuild stuck. A household and cleaning-products maker runs both its Canadian headquarters and an active plant in Brantford today, connected to the national rail network. In 2004, a major confectionery producer and a large consumer-goods manufacturer both chose Brantford as a new manufacturing location, and in 2017 a Japanese-owned factory opened here producing motor cores for electric and hybrid vehicles, proof the city still draws serious investment.
Confectionery and household-goods lines both lean on flow wrappers and Mars Series vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) machines to hit volume without sacrificing seal quality, and Brantford's active plants in both categories are the type of operation we build for. We supply flow wrap and Mars Series VFFS equipment for candy, confectionery, and household-product lines, backed by a candy-industry case study showing how one confectionery producer expanded packaging capacity without a full line rebuild. For plants running case-ready shipping alongside primary packaging, our solutions page covers case packing too, so one line can go from fill through pallet-ready cases. The confectionery and household-goods plants here don't need us next door either. Our confectionery industry page and our Ontario locations page cover how the rest of the province connects with this equipment, Brantford included.
