Lynn's manufacturing story runs from a shoe-industry boom through an electrical-equipment legacy to an active jet-engine plant today. We bring packaging automation to the food, beverage, and personal-care producers working alongside it.
By 1900, Lynn was a world leader in shoe production, with 234 factories turning out more than a million pairs of shoes a day on machinery mechanized by African-American inventor Jan Ernst Matzeliger; the last shoe factory closed in 1981. That shoe-manufacturing base produced an electrical-equipment maker that merged with another electric-equipment company in 1892 to form one of the era's dominant electrical manufacturers, with Lynn as one of its two original plant sites, a site that still builds jet engines today. We bring packaging automation to that same industrial city, serving the food, beverage, and personal-care producers running alongside it.
A personal-care products manufacturer now runs its production out of a former dairy-processing facility in Lynn, a pairing striking enough that it earned the city an unofficial nickname for its output, a fitting turn for a city built on shoe factories and electrical manufacturing. That personal-care production line is a direct match for our stick pack and sachet machines and EcoBagger/RotoBagger premade-pouch equipment, which handle small personal-care and household-goods formats at high speed, backed by checkweighers and case-sealing equipment that gets finished shipments out the door. Global Protection runs the personal-care production; our job is matching stick pack, sachet, and pouch equipment to those small formats without slowing the line down. Our case study on a growing food producer scaling up its packing line shows the leap this personal-care plant is positioned to make. Small formats still need real automation. We cover Massachusetts food, beverage, and personal-care manufacturers working in and around Lynn from our Toronto and Tampa bases, from a single Mars Series vertical form fill seal (VFFS) machine to a full automatic case packer line, backed by a complete solutions package.
