Long before a $400 million beverage-production campus broke ground in Olathe, the city's industrial parks already ran on outdoor-power-equipment and industrial-pump manufacturing, the kind of base that keeps a workforce comfortable with precision machinery. That beverage campus opened in June 2025 on 150 acres, running 700,000 square feet across four production lines, two for aluminum cans moving up to 2,000 cans a minute and two for PET bottles moving up to 900 bottles a minute. A line running at that speed needs packaging line automation that can keep pace: case erecting, sealing, and packing equipment that keeps up can by can, plus cobot palletizing and checkweighing systems that catch underfills before pallets leave the dock.
That's not Olathe's only story. A regional grocery distribution center employs roughly 300 people supplying stores across the area, and a local university's food-innovation accelerator runs a multi-kitchen scale-up facility that has helped area bakeries and food companies develop and package new products for retail. At 2,000 cans a minute, the risk shifts downstream, and PLAN IT's role is keeping the case-packing and palletizing side from becoming the bottleneck. Olathe has no PLAN IT office, but the equipment that stage of growth calls for is ready when you need it: Mars Series VFFS baggers and EcoBagger premade-pouch machines for packaged-food companies moving out of a test kitchen, automatic case packers and case erectors for high-volume beverage lines, and PackMaster cobot palletizing and checkweighing systems for both. Our case study on scaling food production and food and beverage industry page show how other producers made that same jump, the Kansas location page covers what's happening across the metro, and the VFFS machine category, automatic case packer lineup, and solutions page cover the equipment end to end.
