Peoria sits inside the Loop 303 corridor, the stretch of industrial, commercial, and mixed-use development the West Valley has branded its 'Desert Empire,' and packaging automation is finding new demand there as manufacturers move in. Loop 303 is growing fast. A semiconductor packaging and test plant built in the city has brought an estimated 2,000 new jobs and bolstered hopes for a broader industrial base along the loop. That growth builds on agricultural roots that go back to 1886, when colonists recruited by a local land developer settled the area along the Arizona Canal in the Salt River Valley, and a citrus producer's farming operation grew alongside them. Peoria incorporated in 1954 and was crowned the 'Rose Capitol of the World' two years later, in 1956.
Loop 303's new CPG and food processors are specifying their packaging line before the first pallet ships, not scrambling to retrofit one later. As they follow the corridor's expansion into the West Valley, they typically start with two machines: Mars Series vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) packaging equipment for bagged and pouched product, and automatic case packers to carry cartons onto pallets as output ramps up. One of our case studies walks through that same jump, from a food producer's first pilot batches to full-line volume, in more detail. You can find what we supply and service across the Valley on our Arizona location page and our food and beverage industry page, and our solutions page details how a new operation gets its line built out from day one.
