Thunder Bay still moves grain through its Seaway port and builds transit vehicles at a rail plant running since 1912. We supply auger fillers and bulk-bagging equipment sized for exactly this scale of bulk and powder handling.

Thunder Bay's grain elevators once made the city a linchpin of Canadian east-west grain shipping across the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway, the kind of bulk volume that packaging equipment here has to keep up with. Many of those elevators have closed as grain traffic shifted toward Pacific coast ports, though the port remains active in Seaway trade today. A forest-products company is the city's largest private-sector employer, with more than 1,500 jobs, a legacy of pulp-and-paper mills first built in 1917 and 1920. A rail and transit-vehicle manufacturing plant built in 1912, still running at roughly 553,000 square feet, employs about 500 people building transit vehicles for public transit systems in southern Ontario, after a century that also included railway box cars and wartime aircraft.
Grain handling at this volume is the packaging challenge our EliteFill auger and powder-filling equipment is built for, alongside EcoBagger and RotoBagger premade pouch and bagging machines for granular and bulk products. A grain, forestry, or manufacturing operation moving product through Thunder Bay's port or industrial base needs filling equipment that holds accuracy at volume, at the grain terminal, the pulp mill, or the rail-car plant alike. PLAN IT itself isn't based out of Thunder Bay. We supply and integrate the equipment for producers across Ontario, with service and support behind every installation. The Ontario location page, powder and granular industry page, auger filling and premade pouch equipment lines, and solutions overview cover what fits a Thunder Bay operation.
